In the world of agriculture, when given a choice for small scale farming or having the opportunity on a large area of land, the choice is obvious. As farmers in the United States use mechanized equipment such as agricultural airplane for seeding, spraying fertilizers or pesticides, and the use of GPS enabled harvesters, greater productivity and efficiency are two immediate tangible and measurable benefits. 

According to the study, crop yields of USA farmlands on average are 3 times greater than Asian farmlands. Also, it's worth mentioned that average size of agricultural holding in Asia is only about 1 hectare, while United States is 170 hectares. Due to the use of mechanized equipments, where human errors can be minimized, besides higher productivity, added benefit is quality assurance in terms of end product. From an economic point of view, larger scale plantation provides economies of scale, whereby the farmers can generate more revenue with marginal increase of overheads.
